ABOUT

Mr. Bettinger has been a business lawyer for 10 years, including 4 years of in-house experience in the internet technology industry. He advises successful entrepreneurs, executives and companies. He counsels on domestic and international business transactions, Internet activities (e-commerce, ASP, media and portals), formations and joint ventures, private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, executive employment agreements, trademarks, domain names and protection of intellectual property. His experience includes fostering numerous strategic relationships and product development opportunities while working as in-house general counsel for aggressively growing businesses that in aggregate raised over $150 million in private financing.

For numerous clients, Mr. Bettinger functions as their outside general counsel, handling all legal matters and overseeing various attorneys needed in specialized fields of law. He has particularly strong industry expertise in Internet, domestic and international technology licensing, international manufacturing and distribution of consumer and durable manufacturing products, entertainment, sports representation and professional services. Mr. Bettinger structures domestic operations for numerous foreign clients entering the United States market, including licensing arrangements, owner operated, complex joint ventures and acquisitions. Mr. Bettinger most recent international experience includes assisting a client in entering the Chinese market. He has worked directly with clients based in Italy, Australia, Holland, Hong Kong and India.

Mr. Bettinger commenced law school at Loyola Law School (Los Angeles) in 1994 with the ambition of becoming an accomplished business attorney and general counsel. As a young stockbroker recently graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, Mr. Bettinger was introduced to the crucial role of a general counsel while working for a securities brokerage firm that catered to executives. Since then, Mr. Bettinger focused every aspect of his educational and professional experience in furthering his goal of becoming a leading advisor to entrepreneurs, companies and executives. In particular, during law school, Mr. Bettinger exerted his extra-curricular efforts to complete a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Mr. Bettinger began his practice of law in the corporate department of a top California firm. Thereafter, as an in-house lawyer, he handled and managed all legal matters, gaining first-hand experience as to the impact structuring transactions has on the success of a business. For the past four years, Mr. Bettinger has been in private practice working as general counsel to numerous companies.

Most recently, Mr. Bettinger completed a Post-Graduate degree in Taxation (LL.M.). The degree is lesser known since it is available only to those who have a law degree and who desire to learn a great amount about a particular legal subject. Due to Mr. Bettinger’s continued role in advising on various transactions, understanding the tax implications became paramount when assuring the best structuring advice is being provided to clients. After three years of a 180 mile round-trip commute, Mr. Bettinger completed the taxation program at the nationally regarded, University of San Diego. During such time, he continued to develop and successfully grow his practice while fostering numerous successful business relationships.
